Welcome to Art House

Art House Co-op is an independent Brooklyn-based company that organizes global, collaborative art projects. Our flagship endeavor is the Sketchbook Project: an evolving library featuring more than 12,000 artists' sketchbooks from 100 countries and counting. We also operate the Brooklyn Art Library and Brooklyn Archives, our storefront spaces in the heart of Williamsburg.

We began in 2006 in Atlanta, GA and moved to New York City in 2009. Since that time, our small organization has grown into a worldwide community of more than 60,000 artists. By focusing on the intersection of hands-on art making and new technology, Art House Co-op nurtures community-supported art projects that harness the power of the virtual world to create something real.

Steven Peterman

Steven is the co-founder of Art House Co-op and steers the ship as Director of Operations. With a background in printmaking and a nose for vintage ephemera, Steven inspires a love of all things handmade. Steven's vision of sustainable communal art projects keeps the Art House team grounded — and excited to collaborate on new ideas every day.

Shane Zucker

Shane co-founded Art House Co-op and serves as our Creative Director, Web Developer and all-around technologist. A designer by trade, Shane harnesses his passion for connectivity and visual communication to help bring creative communities together. Note: If he doesn't answer when you shout, he's probably busy rocking out at his desk.
