The Canvas Project

Every day there are thousands of memories that we experience. Everything we do leads to another. Everything we do affects us as well as everyone you interact with and who they interact with. We are left with the inability to control these moments. No matter what you do, something will effect this wave of moments.

We want to see these moments captured in a painting or collage. We are going to send you five 3x3 inch canvases. What moment leads you to the next?

What does this mean?

This means anything. What will your paintings do if someone sees them? Will it change something about their day or even their life? Will you set them on a new path? Will you set them up to meet the love of their life? Paint anything you want. Paint what you feel. Paint in a series of 5!

Postmark deadline extended
August 04, 2008
As per suggestions by artists, we have extended the postmark deadline a nice few months to November 15th. Also, the canvases should be mailing out within the next few weeks to everyone so you can get started on them.

rules & info

• Canvas dimensions are 3 x 3 inches.
• All five canvases must be sent back. However, if you can't finish them all, or it somehow ties into your piece, then send some back blank.
• Print a number on the back of each canvas from 1-5. This is the order that they will be hung in. If you do not number each canvas, then we will use our discretion when hanging them.
• Any medium may be used.
• When being sold at the show, your canvases will only be sold as a set.
• Please allow 4-6 weeks to receive your canvas.

If you want your canvases returned to you, you MUST include a self addressed STAMPED package/box/envelope when you send them in to us. This is the only way we can do it. Please make sure that ALL of your canvases fit inside of the package you want it shipped back in and that the postage covers the amount needed to ship your particular canvas. Please give up to 3 months to receive your work back. If your canvases do not fit in the provided return package, we will not be able to return your work.

By submitting this form, you give art house the right to use images of your canvases for any promotional materials and on our websites. Newspapers and other media outlets (including online blogs) are allowed to use images of your work in promotional material promoting art house. Art House has the right to publish images of your canvas in a book or any other publication medium. Credit to you as the artist will be given in all of the above instances.

Your work is your work and you retain the rights to it. If your canvases are sold in the show, Art House will send you a check at the end of the show for 60% of the amount sold for. You will have the opportunity to set your price when you receive your canvas. As stated above, we will return your canvases to you if not sold (or not for sale) if you include a self-addressed-stamped-package when you send the canvas to us.
