Share your work with the Digital Library! This archive is the virtual extension of the Brooklyn Art Library and contains professionally scanned contributions to the Sketchbook Project. We're thrilled to provide a virtual home for this incredible work from the community — won't you join us?
After you login, we'll display a list of all of your projects. You can then pick and choose which ones you would like to have digitized.
The Digital Library enables viewers from across the globe to experience the Sketchbook Project. By contributing to the Digital Library, you're helping us share your work with the widest possible audience.
Each digitized sketchbook is individually photographed by our staff archivist and uploaded to our online database. We use the same technology employed by major research collections to ensure the highest quality images.
Browse by theme and geography, search by artists' name, or just let your eyes wander — exploring the Digital Library is up to you. Visitors can save books to their personal reading lists, share favorites with friends and family and even leave comments for the artists.
Like all of our projects, the Digital Library is entirely community funded. Your digital archiving fee helps lay the foundation for an online inspiration resource that we will nurture together for years to come.
If your book is already cataloged in the Brooklyn Art Library, it will be up on the site in approximately 2 weeks. If you're still working on your sketchbook and haven't returned it to us yet, it will be digitized within a couple of weeks of receiving.
Every sketchbook contributed to the 2010, 2011 and 2012 projects, including the Fiction Project, is eligible for addition to the Digital Library. Other projects will be made available for digitizing as they are added to the Brooklyn Art Library's physical collection.
