The Space between us

Over the past three years Art House has hosted many unjuried exhibitions. We have decided to switch it up a little where the Art House community will be the jury. Introducing: the space between us: an art house project.

1. Sign up and complete your 4x6 piece of art work. It can be anything. A painting, drawing, sketch, photograph, or just about anything that can fit on the drawing paper we send you.

2. We will hold an exhibition in Brooklyn, Ny of the drawings we get back and allow the viewers at the show to vote for the 100 best.

3. We will put the 100 with the highest votes on the website where the art house community will vote on the 50 best.

4. The 50 artists with the most votes will create a larger painting, photograph, drawing, whatever and submit it for a 2nd exhibition. (We will email more info to those artists that were selected.)

5. The person with the most votes will win the $1000 dollar artist grant!

Can I submit more then one entry?
Yes, but you must pay an entry fee for each submission.

Can I use my own paper?
We prefer for you to use ours so the 1000 original drawings are on uniform sheets of paper.

Can I use any medium on my piece?
Of course!

Can it be bigger then 4x6?
No. Please make sure your final piece is 4x6.

If I am one of the 50 selected for the 2nd exhibition, how long will I have to work on my piece?
You should have a month and half to two months to work on it.

If I am one of the 50 selected for the 2nd exhibition, what are the restrictions?
Your final piece must be smaller then 11x17.

Can I have my work back after the exhibitions?
Yes. Simply include a self-addressed-stamped-envelope (SASE) in the same package when you submit your work to us. Please make sure your work can fit in the SASE and that it has enough postage to cover the weight and dimensions of your piece.

By submitting artwork to Art House, LLC, you are giving Art House, LLC the right to use images of your work for any promotional materials and on our websites. Newspapers and other media outlets (including online blogs) are allowed to use images of your work in promotional material promoting Art House.

Your work is your work and you retain the rights to it. If your work is sold in the show, Art House will send you a check at the end of the show for 60% of the amount sold for. As stated above, we will return your artwork to you if not sold (or not for sale) if you include a self-addressed-stamped-envelope when you send your work in to us.
