Alison Caltrider

I'm originally from Maryland, the DC area. I've been an artist of different types all of my life, always going from piano to singing to drawing and painting. For many years I was a Civil Draftswoman back before the computer age of CADD. I didn't start painting until my mid 40's and love it. Painting didn't come easy for me, it was loose and expressive and after being confined to drawing in pen and ink on mylar in drafting was and still is a challenge. I look on this site and see some of the most incredible work and I am honored and humbled to be a part of this site. I lived in New Mexico for three years and want to go back and paint the light and color.....there is nothing like it anywhere in my travels and I've traveled a lot.
