Amber Walden

I am a (not quite) starving artist living in north Carolina. I have been painting and drawing since I could hold a pencil,and can't imagine my life without art and music. I draw inspriration from many things and people, friends and family, beauty in ordinary things and most of all Mother Nature herself and Music of all kinds. I love to be outdoors, preferably around a body of water. I am aslo an amatuer photographer, but oil on canvas is my true love. but i have to admit I am a charcoal junkie. love to get dirty. The majority of my subject matter is either nature or the female form. It is slightly absract but i would consider myself an espressionst . it is the most accurate label I can find (sorry!) In my personal opnion, Art is to be felt, when veiwed. Every piece I do has an emotion behind it. i do not do political art, or art with a statement. I have a studio in downtown Raleigh, NC in the Beehive Gallery located at 107 W Hargett st, top floor of father and Son's Antiques. Been there for about a year and a half now. Bottom line - i do art because i love it and hopefully those of you viewing it will too.

You too have a beautiful collection that seems to unite the feminine for and that of plants (roots and vines), that doesn't necessarily lend itself to a earth mother / mother earth image, but share a deep contemplation of a woman in 'bloom'.
