I am a minimalist. I like it. I live in a CAN-dominium, (mobile home). I like it. My studio is on a porch now. I like it. After the Hurricanes of '04 and '05 I did not leave the Gulf Coast. I love it. I am still a working artist. I love it.

What I admire of minimalist artists is the way in which they can say so much with very little. It takes a lot of ingenuity to do that. Take care!

Cool, Deborah! I'll wait to see it. I'm curious about your style of coffee-painting!

Obs.: If you paint anything with coffee, please inform me. I'd like to see other coffee-artworks with conceptions different than mine. Feel free to tell me if you have some doubts, critics or observations.

Dear Deborah,

If you're a minimalist, coffee-painting is made for you.

It's simply painting with nothing more than soluble coffee on card paper, canvas or MDF (or on anything else your imagine).

First I do a sketch of what I want (with pencil) on the surface I intend to paint. Then, I do a 'mass' with soluble coffee and a little bit of water, in a small glass.

I start painting like a watercolor, taking small amounts of the coffee 'pasta' with a paintbrush, and putting on a tile, diluting with some water using the brush and painting first the lighter tones, reserving white areas, and then painting darker tones. It's extremly easy, fun, and I love the smell of coffee. At the end I protect the artwork with acrylic varnish spray.

All the best!

Hey Deborah! Thanks for the comment.  Let me know if you have any future shows in Texas. I would love to stop by. I've only been to the Gulf Coast once, but I know that it is a beautiful place full of amazing people. I can see why you didn't leave after the hurricanes.

the bees are staying inside because the temperature is geting bdelow the 10 C. It's  always nice to see that some are looking around for food when the sun gives some heat. Nice you like the bees....
