Milliande Demetriou

My name is Milliande and artistically I am intriqued by the notion of universal consciousness and choose to peek closely at the small particles that make up existence. Human and living form cell biology, the interplay of microcosm and macrocosm, quantumphysics and the spiritual connection to the Self all nurture me with an endless stream of inspiration. The female form and its nature of being, fragments rather than wholes and communicative energy exchange between them are central themes in my artwork. I enjoy making the invisible visible and creating openended visual artworks that invite the viewer to explore deeper within the layers of their own perceptions . Mixed media art techniques provide a rich playground for my artistic impulses and allow room for an individual approach to the multilayered facets of my work. 		Susan Pearcy over 2 years hmmm....no, don't worry, if that comment was intended for me. I spend way too much time worrying and I conclude it's just not worth it. I agree with you on the relationship between science and art - I feel we are driven in similar ways - to do research and discoveries.

		Monika Schmid over 2 years Hi Milliande:-) I know what you mean, this site is a learning curve for me as well... I haven't received my sketchbook yet but am madly writing down ideas whenever and wherever they strike. I just talked to my mum on the phone and she had a couple of ideas for it too:-) I don't want to look at what other artists with the same theme are doing, I feel so challenged with my theme that I have to concentrate on myself. I have been asking people for ideas left right and centre and I am slowly getting a list together. How is your theme coming along? Do you feel challenged by it? Have a great day! Hugs from Monika
