aica

aica was born in Osaka, Japan, a city where rich cultural traditions co-exist within modern high-rise buildings and cutting edge factories. started her artistic journey at an early age by drawing family portrait narratives on the back of her father's electrical engineering blueprints. aica received a BFA from F.I.T. after initially studying traditional drawing, she moved into 3D animation, but became disenchanted with the 3D medium as being to too explicit, and ultimately rediscovered the power of simple painting and drawing to expand the viewer's imagination beyond the canvas. she currently lives and works in New York where she paints happily with her muses, beautiful twin kittens.
