Alec Von Bargen

Born in New York, United States Lives and works in Akumal, Mexico  Actor by profession, playwright by 'obstination', photographer by inspiration and world traveler by addiction. Born in New York, German parents, grew up in England and Mexico, 5 and 1/3 languages plus a healthy passion for all things Asia. Carbon footprint's off the chart yet recycling is fundamental as are all things green. Human rights are an obsession: live and let live. A city rat at heart calling the Mayan jungle home. Make any sense? Should it? Studied Photography at the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City and although he has been successfully working as an actor/producer/director/writer for the past 12+ years, he never put down his camera. Alec will be participating in the NES Residency in Iceland. He was also invited to participate in The NYArts Beijing residency in Beijing, China, and exhibit at the NYArts Beijing Space. He has been accepted into the LIA (Leipzig International Artist Programme) for the first three months of 2010 in Leipzig, Germany. He has shown at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, The Alte AEG Fabrik in Berlin, The Beijing Arts Space in Beijing and The San Diego International Art Fair amongst others. He will be showing at the Ana Tzarev Gallery in New York City in February 2010 and in Basel in June 2010.
