New Zealand www.redbubble.com
Since I can remember I have drawn, painted and created. My ealiest memory was using an old rag and some shoe polish and making my mark all over a wall when I was three years old. (I had a very understanding mother). My mother (a commercial artist) was my first teacher and I used to watch her paint and mix colours as she painted flowers from the garden. As a child my early works were mainly animals dressed up in clothes doing human things. I made puppets from odds and ends, wooden stilts from broken paino pieces, a dolls house from cardboard shoe boxes and large fruitbowls from recycled newspapers. Colour is everything to me, I love words too and enjoy writing. Sometimes words. a saying, or a line from a song... create an image in my mind and I have to get it down, be it on paper or canvas. I sometimes like to add a touch of whimsy to my work; being able to smile and laugh are so important in life. In the 90's I studied design at Otago University and trained as a Primary teacher majoring in art and literacy. A few years ago my first solo art exhibition was held here in New Zealand (Invercargill) and since have been part of many other exhibitions throughout New Zealand.  My work has been sold throughout New Zealand and overseas. Each day brings a whole host of new artistic possibilities and I consider myself blessed that I can spend my time doing what I love, that's making art and sharing it with others. ~ Anni

Nice to meet you ms Anni !

I have seen your picture someplace, but I don't know where?

I would be thrilled to be listed as friend...I am not sure how to do that though? Thank you for inviting me.

can do a lot of range with that theme!

I am "and suddenly..."

I have done 2 sketches ...I am very far behind...but since I like doing 2 page spreads it shouldn't take me long to get back caught up

Hi, Anni! Found you through Sarah Wallis' page. Your theme "Ahhh, Monsters" sounds like fun! I can just imagine making up all kinds of cute, whimsical fuzzy monsters like those in Monsters, Inc! :-)

Hi Anni,

Nice to recive a greeting from you and a request for being friends I have to admit I am not impressed with this Art House site for me it wants too much and gives very little. I wish you all the very best with your endervours regardless of my own feelings on this site and perhaps I might take more interest in Art House because of you who knows.

COOL.

Hi Anni,

That's quite a long time then!

Yes-I had had some similar thoughts on my topic and also thought about things that take me outside of myself-and that opened up a whole load of new ideas-it is just a case of getting on with it now! Your topic is a strange one-but quite exciting-I look forward to seeing what you come up with!
