looking back on my life now the signs are easy to see. it seems i spent the majority of my childhood drawing, coloring or rearranging my room. and i was forever wandering home with pockets full of some collected treasure. i suppose that it was inevitable that i would become a mixed media/assemblage artist. my most prevalent themes deal with color, spirituality, the magnetic pull of the sea and a life infused with magic and mystery. for me the ocean is always cathartic. whether it be the foggy shores of northern california or the rocky new england coast. fish, beach glass and the detritus of the sea always seem to find their way into my pieces. i am a self-taught artist originally from the foothills of northern california and have been living in atlanta,ga since 1992. several years back i had the wonderful opportunity to spend a couple of years living alongside the enchanting rhode island waters and exploring the haunting and beautiful new england landscape. like kate chopin's doomed heroine in the awakening, i am always called to walk into the water by the whisperings of the fish and mermaids.
