Loganville, GA www.CharlottesWebWorx.Blogspot.comLove the Arts! Teaching them & doing them both ... Love hats, acting & costume designing, as well as drawing characters back stage for A Christmas Carol in 2005 got me started again. I guess I've been an out-a the box Artist forever ...It all started in Kindergarten, when everyone was making dumb looking cone Easter baskets out of rolled up paper. I made a square one like they were suppose to look, ha! What were those teachers thinking? Ho-ho the clown awarded me with a pair of red wooden stilts for drawing the best picture of Shirley Temple in grade school for his TV show. I drew her as an adult with a big southern bell skirt I'd found in a magazine. Who-da thought? Well, she was an adult & not a kid anymore- duh! Through Jr High & High School, we lucky Art Students got to skip school to go paint Halloween pictures on merchant's windows with Bonami soap mixed into the paint, so that it would wash off easy. I always won something but, for the life of me, I can't remember what it was - free passes to skip class was the best reward!
So, it should come as no surprise that my Art today is off the charts unusual - not the norm...I am a Prophetic Artist and I draw4God my dreams & visions to edify, exhort & comfort people. 1Corinthians 14:3 God gives me encouraging prophetic words & pictures to share with people in what I call Vision-Sketches.
At 1st, I called them my 'cheat sheets' - fast sketches & notes to help me remember all of the good stuff God showed me, as I prayed for people. I was on our church's Prophetic Ministry Team with 2 or 3 people where we only had 15 minutes for all of us to take turns sharing & encouraging the people...& I couldn't do all of the talking :-) At 1st, I was afraid I would not have ANYTHING to share, then, I'd get a boat load of good stuff...help!
So, the Vision-sketches helped me cover it all in short order & they'd take it home & God would continue to speak to them personally with the little drawings.
This is what I have included in this Sketchbook Project 2012, a collection of dreams & vision-drawings, which have been a significant encouragement to me. Some date back to 2006, when I 1st began & became the student, after 35 years of teaching. Now, 5 years later, I'm teaching others how to do Prophetic Art. Wanta learn?
Simply draw your dreams & visions and ask God, "what are You trying to say to me through this drawing?" and listen & draw what you see & note what you hear. that's all there is to it.
I hope they speak to you & you will send me a note about it. It is the most fun of all the drawing & painting I've done in my whole life. Many have shared that they still have their little sketch sitting on their desk at home or work. You can do this too! Just dream, draw, ask and expect God to answer you and He will...Then, tell me about it!
