NC www.allowednoise.comLove some science and love some art; so I blend them. I primarily illustrate and animate aspects of life science, mostly in digital format. Art was always just a hobby, just some odd pencil sketches here and there. I eventually discovered an affinity for pen and ink, and scratched the surface a little with painting. But even in college I continued to pursue science. After working in the lab for a while, I went back to school to learn computer graphics. And though I love the computer as a powerful tool in the arsenal, I retain a special prejudice for traditional art. I have again returned to drawing more (in part thanx to the Sketchbook Project). Struck with the gardening bug, I have also expanded to the ornamental landscape, transforming my home into a living canvas.

Katherine Liontas-War over 2 yearsI just looked at your portfolio work and I really like your line work and subject matter. You must look at Lauri lipton's work. She's a surreal artist who uses skeletons in her compositions. She draws beautifully and is a master with the pencil. Her new book may be out already. Do a google search or go to the surreal website and find her name. You will be very impressed with her work. |

Katherine Liontas-War over 2 yearsThanks for the comments about my sketchbook. I live by a beautiful refuge and everyday I am inspired by those majestic rocks. If you really enjoy the use of line, look and study da vinci's line work. He is my hero! Your drawings are striking and creative. Did you use pencil? |
