Diane Oliver

I am a self-taught painter.  I LOVE to paint.  I love abstract art.  I love abstract non-representational art.  I love looking a something & trying to figure out how I want to express it in my artwork.  What I put on paper will look nothing like my inspiration, but that is the fun.  I love to look at paintings & try to figure out what exactly the artist was trying to say.  I hope that people look at my work the same way.  I love to read art instruction books.  I want to learn everything I can about how to make my paintings appealing to other people.  I hope that I always see art with the eyes of creativity & not like the child who was told how to draw something & finally had no creativity left.  I hope that those who see my work enjoy it as much as I enjoyed painting it.  I work in acrylics for the most part.  I am kind of impatient & love to see the outcome sooner rather than later.  I have also used color pencils a few times and I have a few mixed media pieces.  So, art of any kind appeals to me.  I just love to find new and different ways to create.
