I am first and foremost a poet and writer. With only four years of high-school art for training, I don't consider myself an Artist. But, I love to doodle with pen, colored ink, and various markers. I recently gifted myself with a sketchbook that I carry around with me (something I have wanted to do for years, but felt would be somewhat misleading, if not downright phoney). I seldom start a blank page with much more than a vague idea of line or pattern. I love it and was thus drawn here when I stumbled onto a mention of something called The Sketchbook Project. It definitely sounded like the next step in my process.

"Also like the black and white and the sudden color." Thanks
Elk1946!  It was a lot of fun doing the sketchbook.  I think I'm going
to sign up for the literary one now too.  Should be interesting to see what develops on paper from that one!

Thank you, I'm flattered! Do what you love and enjoy the occasional experiment. If you looked at my old school notebooks, you'd see margins and areas full of doodles and ideas, bits of poetry and writing unrelated to the class. Doodling is a wonderful thing, and I enjoyed looking at your work!

The projects here are great ways to give you--and me--the extra push to produce work. You have a great graphic quality--press on!

Oops, I can be a bit gullible at times - but I like to think it's part of my charm! I took it that you had made 2 or 3 and spent the proceeds on sketchbooks or something.

I hear you, I just didn't have the time. The journal came late and that through everything off tract.

I've been interested in Mandalas for years. I have a book that has projects with black paper and colored pencils. Bought all the stuff and did one or two. But was working then and ran out of time (sounds like now)

Made a perfect transition to me. portholes. Good thinking.
