Emily Davis

GA

A diverse Atlanta artist with influences spanning Tibetan sand art and Huichol yarn paintings to Surrealism, George Condo, Alex Grey, and Andrew Wyeth.

I keep many traditions alive, and want just as many obliterated. Museums should admit freely or burn. The side of a building is the most perfect canvas.

I work in underappreciated media - currently, colored pencils. I give away as much of my art as I sell. All in all, I'm just a girl trying to bring it all back to ground level.

Oh yeah, and the thin strips of color are made from shredding my own work from three years of grad school...I paint/draw on paper and they were not made to be shredded - I just did it to see what could happen..and the magic came alive.

Thank you Emily! Sorry it took so long for me to respond. I did'nt think anyone would ever notice my work here. You've got some great work yourself! I will try and post more soon. I've been so busy trying to finish my book for the sketchbook project 3. I've only got a month before I've gotta' mail it back to the arthouse..:0

Hi Emily,

Thanks for your friendship. I really enjoy using colored pencils, they are very vibrant and can be blended easily. I'll have to dig out some of my other pencil pieces. Your work is very colorful and detailed. Very nice! Enjoyed looking at your portfolio, thanks for sharing.
