I was born and raised in Mansfield, Ohio. After
graduating from High School I attended Bowling Green State University with a
major in Graphic Design but after two semesters switched to Fine Arts / Photography, although my passion is watercolor painting. My artistic career came to a ten year halt when it was decided by others that I could not make a career out of my art because I was not “talented”
enough. I continued to paint on and off but never had the courage or
confidence to show my finished pieces to anyone. In the summer of 2008, I
moved to Great Falls, Montana from Cincinnati, Ohio to be closer to my
Canadian fiancé (now husband) while we work on the immigration process. While in Great
Falls a job at Paris Gibson Square Museum of Art fell in my lap. My artistic
passion was immediately rejuvenated. From the support and inspiration of my
new friends and colleagues and the continued support of my husband I was able
to gain the confidence needed to share my works with others – including my
family. The response was overwhelmingly supportive. In August, 2009, my husband and I started our own fine art studio out of our home in Edmonton, Alberta. Polar Lights Art Studio now has it's own website and Facebook page! Creating art is my
passion; it consumes and relaxes me. Life, to me, would not be complete
unless I could create art.
