JE Baker grew up in rural Illinois on a horse farm as the daughter of an artist and an equine veterinarian. Baker is an interdisciplinary artist with a strong focus on materiality. Evident themes in her work rely on autobiographical narrative inspired by the physiology and psychology of embodiment and myth. She is currently working toward her Master of Fine Arts degree at the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts at Washington University in St. Louis.
