i make art.
i make art and encourage others to make more art.
i make art that solely reflects everything: you, me, my patients
in the hospital, dead things, toys, war, space, feminism, love and
crutches. From a laceration to the
cross of an Ash Wednesday observer—I find art and sanity. Creating is my home. It is a place where I can teach, learn,
laugh and love.
We all are art to me.
I am a self-taught
visual artist who integrates my experiences with ER nursing, life as a feminist
and mother into paintings, drawing, writing and sculpture. My work offers a
visual analysis of life, death, psychology, spirituality, gender and politics. I work with oil, acrylic, ink,
found objects, watercolor, pencil and anything else I can get my hands on. Much of my art has been created or
influenced by live performance: musicians, actors, models, and patients. I also
freelance illustrate and create art for writers, musicians, expectant moms and
performers.
I am passionate about
creating art that offers possibility to the viewer. I enjoy developing a place
where you can connect to odd places, unspoken truths, awakening subconscious
phenomena, dreams and self-revealing moments.
