I work on my art whenever possible and keep several projects going at once. I have a tendency to work in small and more manageable formats. I love to draw and try to do so every day and have been doing so since I was a child. I find myself drawing in meetings when most people are taking notes. I draw images that may or may not relate to the subject being discussed. I draw at poetry readings, listening to music in bars, and while eating breakfast. I am probably drawng now. is body of work is the result of drawings from of these meetings, gatherings or daily doodlings. I prefer drawing my thoughts, rather than speaking my thoughts, whenever possible. I react to environments, people and situations with a pen, wax crayon or graphite pencil in hand, making marks on paper. Drawing enables me to create accessible, inexpensive, and energetic visual art and allows me to develop interesting images later on using these drawings with other tools and devices. Drawing makes me laugh, cry and sing out loud. I jumped on the digital media bandwagon early on. I love gadgets, computers being my favorite. I love working in Photoshop, Illustrator, taking digital photographs and drawing with my Wacom tablet.  I was born/raised in Rochester, New York. I have tried to live other places but somehow somebody continues to bring me back. I have worked at Monroe Community College since 1986 as the Director of Monroe Community College’s Mercer Gallery which entails administering an arts program of gallery exhibitions, artists workshops, residencies and an artist lecture series. I am a Professor in the Visual and Performng Arts Department, where I teach Drawing, Sketchbook, Art Seminar/Portfolio, Adobe Photoshop, Digital Photography, Commercial Illustration and various other courses from time to time.

Hi Kathleen:
Thanks for looking at my work. Can't wait to see my sketchbook up on the site. My first year doing this.

Do you also work with recycled material? I do and have created great stuff.

Hey Kathleen - we seem to have a few things in common.  Many of my sculptures are just 3D doodles, and almost all of my digital imagery is just play. <grin>  I am also a gallery director for a local 2-year college where I teach 3D Design, Portfolio, Sculpture (modeling the figure in clay), and sometimes Drawing and Computer Imagery.
