I use my interest and research in fiber/textile history, Japanese aesthetic, and natural forms to build imagery derived from trees, bonsai, roots, labyrinths, veins, umbilical cords, plant cells, knots, skeins, Japanese Shimenawa sacred ropes and Incan khipu to suggest strength, vitality, continuum, nourishment and ancestral links.  My process of incorporating rope, thread, string, fabric, ink and graphite with encaustic paint combines my drawing sensibilities with visual depth utilizing the inherent sculptural qualities of wax."  NEWS Two of her paintings using encaustic, mixed media on panel will be featured on the covers of a new textbook titled "Translational Perspectives in Auditory Neuroscience" written by Kelly Tremblay and Robert Burkard coming out in 2011.
