I work in many different materials. They all offer different possibilities.
Currently, I am focusing on textile work, principally shibori, or tie-dye, and rozome, or wax-resist dyeing. I love working with clothing because seeing art worn brings it to life. This is also the basis for my interest in henna body art...
I am also applying myself to working regularly in my sketchbook. For the past year I was using a sketchbook that was just not the right size. It was a lovely notebook, but the pages were too small. I couldn't express my thoughts correctly. So, now I have switched to a larger one, and it is going really well...
For me, art serves as a timeline, among other things. Textile arts like weaving especially. I have not done any weaving in a while, but it is a really satisfying activity...Each row records a moment in time.
In short, art is a way for me to document the things I find beautiful and share them with other people...
