Michele Vavonese

Born in Syracuse, New York. Master of Fine Arts, graduated Magna Cum Laude with emphasis in Studio Arts-Painting and Ceramic Sculpture from Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester, New York, 1994. Professional artist and art educator. Has been creating originals, portraits and commissioned art works for over 20 years. Business owner of  Michele Vavonese Studio ~ based in Long Beach, California. Coordinater and exhibiter of art works in New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles County. Published artist and designer who has various pieces in private and public collections. International recognition through juried competitions on Fine Art web sites. Teaching art to students ages four to seventy-four for over 14 years. Currently teaching at Hope University in Anaheim, California. Professional honors include receiving the 2006 Citizen Community Leadership Award from the 8th District in Long Beach CA and being on the Alumni Board of Directors; California Division for Rochester Institute of Technology (1995 ~ present). Site Advisory Board Member of Jamuse; responsibilities include being asked to use and give feedback on Jamuuse, a new site for artists and creative individuals to showcase their work, network and use as an interactive work platform for themselves and their clients. Site started by the leaders who helped shape Apple, Microsoft and Madison Avenue. Currently resides in Los Angeles County with husband and daughter.
