Michelle Moode

Michelle C. Moode's mixed-media work is an exploration of the non-linear nature of memory. The repetitive nature of her processes, (printmaking, mark-making, sewing, crocheting) facilitate a meditative mind-wandering, thus each finished piece becomes a record of her thoughts. She is interested in souvenirs, collections, and ephemera from everyday adventures. She grew up in Downey, California. Then she lived in Murray, Kentucky for many years, and received her BFA in Drawing and Printmaking from Murray State University in 2003. She received her MFA in Printmaking from West Virginia University, Morgantown, West Virginia in 2007. At WVU, she pursued printmaking, bookbinding, installation, and taking watches apart.
