Mariam Muradian

WA www.thebigboxofcolors.org
I  was born an Artist. My Father was a cellist, artist, mathmetician, and composer. My Mother was a concert pianist who wanted to be a doctor (who later attended the University again in her 50’s and became an HIV/AIDS researcher.) My parents always encouraged and nurtured my gift. I am a formally trained artist, alumni of The School of The Art Institute of Chicago and La Universidad Literaria de Salamanca, Leon, Spain. My Bachelors and Master of Science degrees/works are in Fine Arts, Foreign Languages & Literature, Linguistics, International Studies, Educational Leadership: Instructional Technology Systems Design, Cognitive & Behavioral Science, Virtual Reality, Artificial Intelligence, Industrial & Educational Psychology, Human/Computer Interface Design. I spent several years as a nude art model at the universities. A job I absolutely LOVE! It is such a privilege every time! And when specially requested, it is because you know what you are doing, you are a professional. I enjoy being able to contribute to the ARTS from both sides! I am especially intrigued by the undeniable bond between art and healing/medicine. I am the painter, along with Poet, C.C. Arshagra, of The Genetic Bill of Rights Painting Series, a series of 10 paintings + 1 Signature Piece entitled "Consequences" outlining The Genetic Bill of Rights drafted by The Council for Responsible Genetics in 2000. Most people do not even know these rights exist for them....KNOW YOUR RIGHTS! I have exhibited my art nationally and internationally, had sold out shows, and excellent reviews. My art is part of both public and private collections. ART is the PASSION in my soul, my reason for being!

Dear Muradian - thanks for the very thoughtful insights about my work.  I appreciate your comments and it is something I hadn't thought about especially when I created the book - it was more a stream of consciousness approach - but you were able to see the transitions quite clearly.  I love your work as well.  Beautiful layers and of course, the political content is equally compelling.

Thank you for reaching out and complimenting me.  I am impressed with your artwork and bio as well.  I love how you are incorporating activism in your pieces. So do you exhibit in St. Louis?  I just saw the sketchbook project over here.  I will look forward to collaborate with you in the future.

hello Muradian, just read your bio, and viewed your portfolio.  i am a new member this month.  have been skimming thru, checking out other Artist's like yourself while waiting for my 10,000 project to arrive.  reading your bio, i could feel your commitment and identification to Art.  me myself, i have only started painting seriously since 2005.  but i can identify myself in the few pieces i have painted, mainly because i have found i like painting.  have along way to go refining this skill but plan to enjoy myself along the way.  you believe in yourself, i believe more in myself.  will you be my friend?

Thanks for the kind words!!!  Your work looks great and I love your all encompassing attitude towards art.  I wish more people had that kind of outlook towards making art and living life in general!  You strike me as one of the fiew people that was born doing this and saw many options in life but never decided to turn back.
