Born in Caracas, Venezuela she immigrated with her family to San Diego County at the age of 12. Her work consists of paintings in oil, acrylic and mixed media. They are expressions of her multicultural background, her intuitive feel for the relationships between people and abstract musings. Her landscapes incorporate personally meaningful landmarks and are reference to heritage and place. She remains strongly drawn to the figure and the emotional tension between figures, and the figures and the viewer.
I participate in the photo project since these are some of my source inspirations from the community I live in and observe. Michele Obama visited City Heights but unfortunately she never had a chance to see the real neighborhood of fresh produce in markets. It is the most diversivied neighborhood in San Diego and it is rich with culture and image. I am sure I will only capture a small fragment of the ambiance. But it is the "melting pot" It is CREATIVE!
