 My artwork is about the joyful intensity of expressive mark-making.  Sending the viewer a complex message is not my goal as much as presenting work to entertain the eye.  I see myself as a sculptor first, but find my sketchbooks vital.  Previous Cardiffs were journal-keepers, so a sketch-diary isn't that much of a stretch.  Art isn't something I've always let myself do.  As an adult I luckily realized that art making is not a frivolity!
