Making art is as important to me as sleeping or eating, which are hugely important to me.   I have a piece of paper taped to my computer which says "Exercise Your Creativity", so that I remember to do that.  I am learning to play the classical guitar. I practice yoga. Hey! I have an etsy site now...on there I am skyheart27  so check it out!!  I have also updated my website to include a new medium I am using.

Yup!  This year is the loose year.  I will be consentrating on portraits though in the traditional way because I need to prepare for a workshop with Daniel F. Gerhardtz in August.  I don't get as much opportunity to paint from models as I would like and so will try to get down the measuring aspect in the next few months.  He has been in lots of magazines and is in Galleries all over the country.

Hi, Sherrie McGraw is a totally different "feel" than the other two.  The first two seem more like what you do in their colors and almost graphic appeal, however, Sherrie's work is so Richard Schmid or Rembrandt like.  Was there anything special to each one that helped you in your own work?

What workshops did you take?  I might have come out anyway, but I bought an "investment" property near here for my son, his wife and my 20 month old grandson to buy from me when the market turns and they can sell their townhouse.

So short of money...things work out for the best!

I went to a Gabor Svagrik Plein air in Tucson year before last, and a Plein air with Ron Rencher in Scottsdale last year.  The first year I flew out and another painter from my area and I shared a rental car and stayed at the same hotel.  Last year we started the class with Ron Rencher at the SAS and ended there the last day.  We drove out together which was fun and went to Sante Fe and Taos afterward on our way home.  We painted the Scottsdale area...Papago Park where the palms & oasis are and the driving range on three days and one day out in the mountains by a reservoir and another in the foothills of a park looking back toward the city.  We were to come out in January 2010 but my friends' long time boyfriend died in early November from the flu/asthma so she has kind of withdrawn and we canceled our Plein air, which would have been with Phillip Starke through the SAS.

Hi!  Thanks for the friendship and for your warm comments on my work.  Nice to meet you on here.  Your art work makes me want to go on vacation.

Thanks for your comments! Love the colors you are using. I especially like the painting "Bounce". Looks like you have been involved in a lot of projects. Which one has been your favorite?

Thank you-- that's the sketchbook vol 2 you're looking at... the link above it will be for vol 3... but it looks like it's for the 2nd one.  Confusing isn't it?  SO nice of you to say such lovely things as I'm constantly rejected from art shows.
