skylaar

Skylaar was born in Rochester, New York, and grew up in Newport, Oregon. She received her BA in Art from the University of Oregon, where she studied bookbinding and drawing and participated in the Kidd Tutorials creative writing program. Several of Skylaar’s books are in circulation at the Multnomah County Library and other zine archives in the Pacific Northwest. Skylaar makes unique handbound books, comics, and drawings concerning the ocean, love, loneliness, vaudeville, religion, and office culture. Her work can be viewed at www.skylaaramann.com. When not creating, Skylaar enjoys the sea and playing her ukulele.
