Thanks for your encouraging comment. I collaged magazine text and just patiently layered oil, acrylic, water color, color pencil, permanant marker, and calligraphy ink on them. Needless to say, this project was a great challenge, as my work is generally oil on large-scale canvas! (www.trinhmail.com, if you are interested)

I was quite confused going into this project, since it as first felt like an "assignment." So I just allowed myself to experiment and in the end, really fell in love with these precious little pieces. What a way to break out of my comfort zone!

I love all of your canvas project submissions. How did you do them? Is that paint over newspaper/magazine text? I really like the build up of colors on them too. Really nice!
