I am an artist who blends images that I find in nature,  cultures and in my heart. I listen to the spirits that whisper to me in those quite hours when my mind is still. Lines and shadows draw my eye constantly. People, emotions, and idenity fill my soul and I release back into the universe through my art. I work in many mediums, currently I am working in photography and digital software programs and enjoying life. PEACE  VX

Thank you so much for writing. I'm afraid I was not in the usa when you wrote and missed your trip. Perhaps next time. Hawaii was home for me too for over 3 years...Maui and then Oahu but now I spend most of my visits on Kauaii. Soon I leave for London, Florence, and Venice. I am hand carrying an oil portrait to the London National Portrait Gallery for their annual BP competition. They will not allow you to submit photos or jpgs, must be in person!

I was not familiar with the hotel you stayed in San FRancisco but I love the Chinatown/Northbeach area and my art studio (loft) is in Jack London Square near Oakland's Chinatown which is also quite large but not as big as SF's chinatown.

All my best to you,

Uri

Thnx, from a fellow artist. :)

Hi there,

Just wondering, have you heard anything about the 10000 people project?  Was there an exhibit?  I haven't been able to find out anything.  Have you heard?

Oh, yes, my story, I’m so long winded I have to tell it over two posts.  I was in the hardware isle looking for a particular type of screw to use for an interactive project.  I was trying to decide between the black ones and the brass ones, when a helpful employee offered to help.  “What are you attaching to what?”  An irrelevant question, of course I wasn’t attaching anything.  I decided to attempt to explain.  “It’s for an art project, I’m only concerned with the aesthetic.”

“Well,” he stated with a completely stoic matter-of-factness that took me by surprise, “It’s my understanding that Dali liked the brass ones, however Rauschenberg was particularly partial to the black.”

Thanks for your friendship! I have the info on the LACDA Show, Ill  send something too- looks great.  I'll share my favorite Home Depot Story with you-

I’m sure you have this issue there as well, but I am rarely looking for an item with the intent to use it as it was meant to be used.  That can make it tricky for the Orange Apron guys to help out, right.  “I kind of want something circular, doesn’t matter what it’s made from” usually garners such confused looks that I usually just skip asking for help.
